About Water 411
Lately, many questions have been raised regarding the quality of the water that comes into our homes. In April of 2006, arsenic was found in water fountains in five Seattle area schools. Also in April 2006, coroners in England announced a potential link between the death of a 58-year-old woman from a rare form of Alzheimer’s and an industrial accident in 1988 in which aluminum was dumped into her local water supply. This past July, an international symposium on the long-term dangers of fluoridation was held in New York State. Each day, more than 600 “Boil Water” alerts are issued throughout Canada.
These issues of uncertainty are the catalysts behind Water 411. Our focus will be to examine water as it relates to health and wellbeing. Bioaccumulation of heavy metals within our bodies and within the food chain, links between industrial pollutants and cancers, and methods of using pure water to detoxify our bodies are a few of the topics that we will be examining.
Revealing these facts, or even questioning the complete safety of our water supplies, is often viewed as alarmist. Yet, a national survey that was conducted on our behalf indicated that Canadians are looking to be educated about these issues. We here at Water 411 believe that these questions do need to be brought to light. We believe that people should be able to make an informed decision about what they choose to put into their bodies. It is our intention to provide information, to raise issues and to offer solutions regarding the most important and life giving element on our planet. These concerns are real and we believe that they need to be addressed.
